Tenun merupakan salah satu hasil kerainan tangan di Indonesia. Ragam Tenun di Indonesia tidak terhitung jumlahnya, dari ujung timur hingga ke barat. Hasil Tenun pun berbagai macam jenisnya diantaranya berupa kain songket, kain sarung, bahan dasar pakaian atau berupa hiasan-hiasan rumah ataupun kain yang digunakan khusus untuk upacara atau ritual adat suatu daerah.
Hasil tenun ini dapat dijadikan berbagai bentuk kreasi kerajinan tangan, misalnya kain tenun dapat dijadikan bahan dasar sarung bantal, tempat tissue, tempat pensil dan lainnya. Kain Tenun juga dapat dikreasikan oleh para designer-designer untuk bahan gaun yang tidak kalah mewahnya dengan tekstil modern. Dalam hal ini kreasi tenun tradisional akan lebih terlihat unik dan tidak kalah menarik dibandingkan hasil olahan pabrik. Dan yang lebih menarik dengan olahan tradisional yang dikerjakan oleh para jemari masyarakat tradisional ini akan dapat memberdayakan masyarakat sekitar untuk dapat merasakan hasil kreasi mereka ketingkat internasional.
Salah satu contoh hasil kerajinan tenun dapat dikombinasikan dengan bahan-bahan olahan pabrik juga akan menghasilkan perpaduan hasil yang cukup unik juga. Hal ini bias memberikan nilai tambah bagi kerajinan tenun itu sendiri. Sangat menarik apabila kita dapat melihat secara langsung tempat kerajinan dibuat dan bertemu dengan masyarakat pembuatnya.
